Managing systems
You can create hierarchical systems or network systems to organize your locations. Depending on your needs, you might have one or more systems. Regardless of how many systems you have, each site must have only one primary system.
Use the Manage Systems option of the Locations application to perform the following tasks:
- Add a system. The first location you specify for a system becomes the top-level location in the system. For every location you add to the system after the first location, you must specify a parent location. Plan carefully before adding the location to any new system.
- Change a system from a hierarchical type to a network type. Note, you cannot change a network type of system to a hierarchical type of system.
- Select a system to be the primary system. The first system created for a site automatically becomes the primary system. You can make another system the primary system by designating it as the primary system.
