Condition monitoring overview
Condition monitoring involves using measurement points
to define acceptable ranges for meters on an asset or location. When
the meter readings exceed the acceptable range, then you can generate
work orders to address the situation.
Measurement points
When you inspect an asset or a location, you can record and view the meter readings that correspond to measurement points in the job plan of the associated work order. If the point on the asset or the location on the work order correspond to the meter on the job plan that you are adding to the work order, the point identifier is inserted in the Measurement Point field on the plan. If a measurement point identifier is used on the work plan of a work order, you cannot delete the corresponding measurement point record.
Work orders
You use the Condition Monitoring application to create work orders that will correct alarm conditions.
Work order history
You use the History table on the Condition Monitoring tab in the Assets application to view information about work orders that you generated. Work orders listed in this table were generated using the Condition Monitoring application only, and are listed in order by effective date. You can modify the effective date when you use the Generate Work Order option. The effective date in the History table may not be the date and time the work order was generated. If the preventive maintenance in the PM field of the Condition Monitoring tab was part of a preventive maintenance hierarchy when you used the Generate Work Order option, you generated work orders for the entire hierarchy. Only the work order generated for the preventive maintenance in the PM field displays in the History table.
