Working with locations
In the Locations application, create locations for virtual
or physical sites or areas. Organize locations into hierarchical or
network systems. Assign users and custodians for tickets or work to
be done at the location. Create tickets and work orders for a location.
Associate meters and safety information with locations.
Creating locations
You can specify and track locations for assets. You can also organize locations into logical hierarchical systems or network systems. Using hierarchies or systems of locations and specifying the location for assets on the asset record provides the groundwork for gathering and tracking information about the history of an asset.
Adding locations to one or more collections
A collection is a group that can contain assets, locations, and classification items. You can add a location to one or more collections and view a list of all the collections to which a selected location belongs.
Changing the status of locations
Use the Change Status action to change the status of an operating location. Operating locations have a designated status that indicates whether they are operational. When you create a location record, the default status is Not Ready .
Duplicating location records
You can create a location record that copies certain information from an existing location record.
