View Work Details for Assets and Locations

View all of the work details that are associated with the Asset or Location field in the current record.

The work details are:

Work tab — lists all of  the tickets and work orders associated with the asset or location

Preventive Maintenance tab — lists all of the lists all of the future preventive maintenance work associated with the asset or location

Collections tab — lists all of the collections of which the asset or location is a member

Routes tab —  lists all of the routes of which the asset or location is a member        

You can access the View Work Details dialog from more than one application.         

Tickets is a generic term for service requests, incidents, and problems.

If appropriate, you can relate any of the tickets and work orders on the Work tab to the current record. If the current record is a global issue, you can relate the tickets to the global issue.

To view work details for an asset or a location:

  1. Display the record for which you want to view work details.
  2. Click the Detail Menu icon next to the Asset or Location field, and then select View Work Details. The system displays the View Work Details dialog box.
    Note: If the field is null, the option is unavailable.

    The field from where you launch the dialog box determines the results set. For example, if you launch it from the Asset field, the system lists all of the work details associated with the value in the Asset field.  

  3. Select any combination of the following check boxes to filter the type of records that the system lists:
    • Include Children?: The system displays all work orders, tickets, preventive maintenance, routes, and collections records associated with the asset or location, and the child work orders that have the same asset or location. To exclude the child work orders, clear the Include Children? check box.
    • Include Ancestors?: The system displays all work orders, tickets, preventive maintenance, routes, and collections records associated with the asset or location, and the ancestors of the work orders with the same asset or location. To exclude the ancestors, deselect the Include Ancestors? check box.
    • Include History?: The system displays all work orders, tickets, preventive maintenance, routes, and collections records associated with the asset, and the historical (archived) tickets and work orders with the same asset or location. To include the historical records, click the Include History? check box.
  4. Click Refresh.
  5. Click on the tabs to view the work details (filtered by your check box selections) that are associated with the asset or location.

    If column headings are underlined, you can sort column information by clicking the headings. You can also filter the display on each tab by clicking the Filter icon .

    To view more details of a record, click the Detail Menu icon next to its identifier.

  6. When you have finished viewing the work details, click OK.

To relate tickets and work orders to the current record:

  1. Complete steps 1 through 5 to list all of the tickets and work orders associated with the asset or location.
  2. On the Work tab, select the check box next to each record that you want to relate to the current record.
  3. Complete one of the following options to relate the selected tickets and work orders to the current ticket:
    • If the current record that you want to relate tickets to is a global ticket, you can relate those tickets to the global issue. To do so, click Relate Records to Global Issue . This button appears only if the current ticket is a global ticket. Relating tickets to a global issue establishes a RELATEDTOGLOBAL relationship between the tickets.
    • Click Relate Records. Relating records establishes a RELATED relationship between the records.
  4. Click OK.
