Applying item assembly structures

You use the Apply Item Assembly Structure (IAS) action in the Locations applications to apply an assembly structure to an operating location. If a rotating item in the item assembly structure has child items, the children are also applied to the selected location record.

1. In the Locations application, display the location to which you want to apply an item assembly structure.
2. Select the Apply Item Assembly Structure action.
3. To assign numbers to the operating locations in the hierarchy in the Location Hierarchy table, perform either of the following actions:
   1. To individually assign a value to each item, specify a value in the Current Location field. To number the next item in the hierarchy, click Detail Menu in the Item field, and select Move To. Repeat these steps until you have completed assigning numbers to all the items in the hierarchy.
   2. To autonumber each rotating item displayed, click Autonumber All.
4. Click OK to close the window.
5. Save the record.
