Deleting or canceling a license

Use the Licenses application to delete a license record or change its status to Canceled.

About this task

You can only delete a license that is in Draft or Canceled status.

The steps for deleting or canceling a license follow.

Procedure

  1. On the navigation bar, click Open Menu > Assets > Licenses.
  2. To delete a license:
    1. Open the license that you want to delete.
    2. Select the Delete License action from More Actions list.
    3. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.
      You are returned to the record list, where the license record has been removed. If the Delete License action fails with an error message, change the status of the license to Canceled (or Expired) instead of deleting the license.
  3. To cancel a license:
    1. Open the license whose status you want to change to Canceled.
      (You can specify more than one license on the record list by selecting the Select Records check box and then checking one or more licenses to cancel.
    2. On the toolbar, click Change Status.
    3. In the New Status field, select Canceled and click OK.
      The new status is saved automatically.
