Creating project in JIRA

This topic describes the procedure on how to create a JIRA project.

1. Click JIRA ADMINISTRATION on the right-hand top corner, select Projects from the drop-down options.
2. On the Projects page, click Create project.
3. On the Create project pop-up, select Scrum software development software template and click Next.
4. On the Scrum software development pop-up, click Select.
5. Fill in the Name field for the Scrum software development project and click Submit. For example, fill the fields as follows:
   • Name: ICD JIRA
   • Key: IJ (auto-generated)
     Note:

     • Make a note of the Key in the above step.
     • Once a project is created successfully, it will be reflected in the Projects page with all the details like project Name, Key, etc.
6. On the Backlog page, fill the sprint details and click Create sprint.
7. On the Create sprint pop-up, fill in all the fields and click Create.
