Viewing the business application topology for actual configuration items

To view a graphical representation of the relationships of business applications that are associated with actual configuration items, you view the business application topology for an actual configuration item.

Before you begin

To view the business application topology, you open a discovery tool, such as IBM® Tivoli® Application Dependency Discovery Manager. You can view the business application topology for actual configuration items that are associated with configuration items.

Procedure

  1. In the Configuration Items application, select the configuration item that is associated with the actual configuration item.
  2. Select the View Actual CI Topology > Business Application action.
  3. To view the topology, perform one of the following steps:
    Option Description
    If the actual configuration item is associated with one operational management product View the topology.
    If the actual configuration item is associated with multiple operational management products
    1. Specify an operational management product.
    2. Click OK.
    3. View the topology.
  4. Close the discovery tool to return to the Configuration Items application.
