Configuring security authorization for object structures

To avoid security issues when you import digital data, you must configure security authorization in Maximo® Manage for the MXITEM, MXAPIASSETSPARE, and MXAPIJOBPLAN object structures.

1. In the Object Structures application, filter for and open the MXITEM object structure.
2. Click the Configure Object Structure Security action.
3. In the Configure Object Structure Security window, ensure that the Use Object Structure for Authorization Name check box is selected.
4. Ensure that the Visible check box is selected for all signature options and click OK.
5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 for the MXAPIASSETSPARE and MXAPIJOBPLAN object structures.
6. In the Users application, filter for and open the MXINTADM user.
7. Click the Groups tab and note the security groups that this user belongs to.
8. In the Security Groups application, perform the following actions for each security group that the MXINTADM user belongs to:
   1. On the Object Structures tab, filter for and open the MXITEM object structure.
   2. In the security options section, click Grant Listed Options for This Object Structure.
   3. Repeat steps a and b for the MXAPIASSETSPARE and MXAPIJOBPLAN object structures.
   4. Save your changes.
