Installing Maximo IT in Maximo Application Suite

Maximo IT is an add-on for Maximo Manage. Maximo IT is an integrated service management and asset management solution that helps you manage a comprehensive range of IT processes, services, and assets.

You deploy Maximo IT with Maximo Manage in IBM Maximo Application Suite. Maximo Application Suite is a suite of asset management and data analytic offerings, which is offered both as a customer-managed product on Red Hat® OpenShift® and as an IBM Managed solution.

You can deploy Maximo IT when you deploy Maximo Manage or as a separate step after you deploy Maximo Manage. To deploy Maximo IT, you first select Manage from the Maximo Application Suite catalog and then select IT from the list of deployable components.

Maximo IT enables the capabilites of integrated service management and asset management in the suite. To be able to install Maximo IT in the suite, user needs to obtain entitlement. Entitlement to Maximo IT is enabled through AppPoints (Application points) that must be purchased separately. To install Maximo IT with Manage, refer to the steps below:
  1. Perform a fresh installation of Maximo Application Suite. For more information, see Maximo Application Suite documentation.
  2. Create a Maximo IT or Manage database. For more information, see Creating a Maximo IT/Manage database.
  3. Deploy Maximo IT with Manage. For more information, see Deploying Maximo IT with Maximo Manage.
    Note: Maximo IT is only compatible with Manage and Service Provider.
  4. Activate Manage with IT. For more information, see Activating Maximo Manage with IT.
  5. After activating IT with Manage, configure your environment and applications before your start using Maximo IT. Follow the configuration settings, see Configuring Maximo IT.
