Attribute replacements
The attributes of configuration records can be replaced as part of the migration process. Attribute replacement might be required when the data in configuration records in the target environment does not match the data in the source environment.
Attribute replacement can be used when the creator of the package definitions does not know the data constraints in the target environments to which packages might be deployed.
You select the attributes for replacement when you create a package definition in the source environment. The specified attributes to be replaced are stored in the metadata of a package. The replaced values are determined by the attribute replacement rules that you define in the target environment.
