Step 6: Import the IT asset disposal file

Import the IT asset disposal file into Maximo IT.

Before you begin

Before you attempt to import asset disposal data, check that the file to import is formatted properly and is in a location that you can access from the Maximo IT user interface.

About this task

The following steps describe how to import the asset disposal data into Maximo IT.

1. On the navigation bar, click Open menu > Integration > External Systems.
2. On the record list, select the TAMITEXTSYS external system.
3. On the Enterprise Services tab of the External Systems application, select the ITASSETDISPOSALInterface enterprise service and click Data Import.
4. In the Data Import window, select Flat File.
5. In the Specify Import File field, click Browse and locate and select the file to import.
6. Click OK to import the asset disposal data.

What to do next

After you import the asset disposal data, check the records in the Assets application to verify appropriate updates. Also check the Message Reprocessing application in the Integration module to determine whether errors were generated for records.
