Integrating IT assets with configuration items

If you determine that IT asset data and configuration item data provide information about the same asset, you can link the records.

You can use Maximo IT applications to manage configuration items and also information technology assets. A particular item, such as a computer system, might be represented both as a configuration item and as an asset. In this case, you can link the records to show that they contain information about the same item.
