Release purchase orders
From the Software Contracts application, you can create a release purchase order. A release purchase order is a purchase order for a portion of the total amount or lines specified on an associated volume contract.
A release purchase order has all the properties, information, and terms and conditions of an existing contract.
You create a new release purchase order by selecting the Create Release PO action.
- The Create Release check box on the Properties tab is selected.
- The contract start and end dates include the current date.
When you create a release purchase order, the system creates the purchase order with the purchase order identifier and description that you entered in the Create Release PO window. You can also indicate default charge values for the lines that you add to the release purchase order.
The cost of each release purchase order is tracked against the maximum release amount listed on the contract.
