Enabling or disabling the New Change dialog
When a user selects the New Change action, a dialog can be displayed in which to enter basic information for the new record. After the information is submitted, the record is saved. You can modify a system property that determines whether the New Change dialog is displayed.
About this task
If the New Change dialog is used, the user enters the Change summary and details, along with the Change type. In addition, the user can make himself the Change owner and specify whether the Change process workflow will start now. After the information is supplied in the dialog and submitted to the database, the Change tab opens, and the record can be augmented with additional information at that time, or at a later time.
By default, upgrading customers have the New Change dialog disabled; new customers
have the dialog enabled. Depending on whether you want users to be able to create and save a new
Change record in this streamlined way, you can modify the pmchg.change.usecreatedialog system
property. For complete details and instructions, see Enabling or disabling new record dialogs for Changes, Incidents, and Service
