Searching CIs by classification

Use the Classification Search panel to search for configuration items (CIs) that have a specified classification. You can select one or more of the CIs for the Change Window Calendar that you are working with. Associating CIs with a Change Window Calendar makes the CIs available for implementation tasks that are scheduled during the change windows that are defined in the Calendar.

About this task

The panel lists CI classifications. After you select a classification from the list, attributes associated with the selected classifications are also displayed. In addition, all of the CIs that have the selected classification are displayed in the CIs list. You can select one or more CIs from this list to associate with the change window that you are working with.

To search for CIs by classification:

1. Select a classification value in the box that lists classifications. After you select a classification, attributes associated with the classification are displayed in the Attributes table, and the CIs that have the classification are displayed in the CIs list.
2. Select one or more CIs from the CIs list, or check Configuration Item Number to select all of the CIs in the list.
3. Click OK to associate the selected CIs with the Change Window Calendar that you are working with.
