Viewing baseline comparison results

Use this dialog to view the results when you compare the members of a baseline to the corresponding actual CI values.

When you compare the members of a CI baseline to the corresponding actual CIs, data is retrieved about the attributes and relationships of the member CIs, as of the time when the baseline was activated. These values are compared to the current attributes and relationships of the actual CIs that are linked to the member CIs, and the results are displayed in the comparison results dialog box.

The dialog box displays the name, description, version, and activation date of the CI baseline, as well as the time when the comparison was performed. Comparison results are displayed on four tabs in the dialog box:
Member CIs with Differences
This tab displays information about each member CI for which there is a corresponding actual CI, but whose attributes or relationships do not match the current values on that actual CI. The list shows the name and classification of the member CI and the name and classification of the actual CI. You can filter the list to view only those CIs that meet certain criteria. You can click the twistie on any row to view the full details about the differences that were detected for that member CI.

When you view the full details about the differences that were detected for a member CI, the Attribute Differences and Relationship Differences sub-tabs provide details of each difference. The Relationships Differences sub-tab displays two tables: the New Relationships table lists relationships that exist on the current actual CI but did not exist on the member CI when the baseline was activated; the Deleted Relationships table lists relationships that existed on the member CI when the baseline was activated but do not exist on the current actual CI.

Member CIs with No Actual CI
This tab displays information about each member CI for which no corresponding actual CI is found. The list shows the name and classification of the member CI. You can filter the list to view only those CIs that meet certain criteria. You can click the twistie on any row to view more information about the member CI. There are no sub-tabs on this tab.

If a member CI appears on this list, the actual CI with which it is associated cannot be found using the ACTCINUM property of the member CI.

Member CIs with No Differences
This tab displays information about each member CI for which there is a corresponding actual CI, and whose attributes and relationships match the current values on that actual CI. The list shows the name and classification of the member CI and the name and classification of the actual CI. You can filter the list to view only those CIs that meet certain criteria. You can click the twistie on any row to view information about the member CI and the actual CI.
All Relationship Differences
This tab displays information about all of the differences that were found between the relationships of the member CIs and the relationships of the actual CIs. This tab displays two tables: the New Relationships table lists relationships that exist on the current actual CI but did not exist on the member CI when the baseline was activated; the Deleted Relationships table lists relationships that existed on the member CI when the baseline was activated but do not exist on the current actual CI. You can filter each table to view only those relationships that meet certain criteria.
