You can swap assets associated with a work order. The swap
action applies to the work order and all of the assets, locations,
and configuration items on its child work orders. The term "work order"
can refer to a work order, change, release, or activity record.
Before you begin
You can execute the swap immediately, or you can save the
swap as a plan. If you save the swap as a plan, the changes will apply
when the status for the work order is COMP (Complete). When the status
of a work order is COMP, you swap assets only using the Execute
Now option. When you select Execute Now on
any tab, the system executes the changes on all tabs. When you
duplicate a work order that has a planned swap to its assets or locations,
the planned action does not get copied to the duplicate work order.
Also, when you create a release, or change, or work order from a record
using the Select Action menu option, the planned
action is not copied to the follow-up record.
