Importing asset-related digital data
You can import asset-related digital data into Maximo® Manage from Digital Twin Exchange. After you configure integration components, you
use the Assets application to connect to Digital Twin Exchange and import the data.
Overview
By using the integration between IBM® Maximo Manage and IBM Digital Twin Exchange, you can import digital data directly from Digital Twin Exchange into your Manage database to ensure that you can access the latest information that manufacturers provide about the equipment that you own.
Configuring the integration
You must specify an integration endpoint, configure a server certificate, set a prefix identifier, increase the length of a Manage attribute, configure security authorization for object structures, specify the update processing mode that is used for imports, and grant access to an application function to enable the integration between Maximo Manage and Digital Twin Exchange.
Importing data from the digital data source
By using the Assets application, you can import data from Digital Twin Exchange into Maximo Manage. During an import, predefined statuses are assigned to the asset, item, and job plan records that are created in the Manage database. Job-plan-related records might be updated if you import the same digital data into Maximo Manage more than once.
Integration mapping
Integration mapping identifies the data that is mapped in the integration points for spare parts, assets, and job plans from IBM Digital Twin Exchange to IBM Maximo Manage.
Customizing the integration
You can customize integration mapping to populate additional fields in Maximo Manage with incoming data from Digital Twin Exchange.
Troubleshooting integration problems
Troubleshooting is a systematic approach to solving problems that you encounter when you use the integration. The troubleshooting approach is to determine why something does not work as expected and specify how to resolve the problem.
