Changing the status of assets
You use the Assets application to change the status of an asset. Assets have a designated status that indicates whether they are operational. When you create an asset record, the default status is Not Ready.
About this task
If a rotating asset has a status of Decommissioned, you cannot change the status for this asset. The Decommissioned status indicates that the rotating asset has been returned to the vendor. The asset record becomes a history record that cannot be changed.
Procedure
- From the Assets application, display the asset whose status you want to change.
- Select the Change Status action.
- In the New Status field, select a status from the drop-down list.
- Click OK.
