You can associate a person with an asset as a custodian,
as a user, or as both. You can also associate groups with assets.
A user is someone who uses the asset. A custodian is someone responsible
for the care of the asset. An asset can have multiple users, custodians,
or groups.
About this task
If you use the Desktop Requisitions application or the
Service Requests application, you can create a request with that asset
only if you are an associated user or a custodian for that asset. In
other applications, when a caller contacts a service desk agent, the
agent can associate the caller with the ticket and then associate
the appropriate assets with the ticket. If an asset has no users or
custodians, anyone can create an incident or service request for the
asset.
By default, the first person that you
associate with an asset is the primary contact for that asset. You
can change the primary contact. You can designate one or more people
as users, and one or more people as custodians.
Procedure
- From the Assets application, display the asset for which
you want to associate users, custodians, or groups.

is a user, a custodian, or both. If a person is the primary contact
