Applying item assembly structures

You use the Assets application to apply an item assembly structure to a rotating asset or to an operating location.

About this task

When you apply an item assembly structure with rotating and non-rotating items to an asset record, the non-rotating items are shown on the Spare Parts tab of the asset record. If a rotating item in an item assembly structure has child items, the child items are applied to the selected asset or to the location record. As a result, the child items do not have their own inventory balance.

  1. From the Assets application, display the asset to which you want to apply an item assembly structure.
  2. Select the Apply Item Assembly Structure action.
  3. You can either assign unique numbers to the rotating items or have the product assign numbers.
