Release module
You use the applications in the Release module to process Releases in your data center.
You can create and manage a Definitive Media Library, manage deployments, view scheduled Release
tasks, and more.
Releases application
You use the Releases application to plan, review, and prepare for releases across your environment. You define releases to manage large-scale deployments of authorized versions of software into a production environment; for large or critical hardware rollouts; and for bundling related sets of changes. Releases detail the tasks, scheduling, and people or groups involved in the release. You can customize the flow of activities and ensure that release tasks are completed in the correct order by the appropriate people.
Definitive Media Library application
A Definitive Media Library (DML) is a secure compound in which the definitive, authorized versions of software package configuration items (CIs) are stored and protected. A DML consists of one or more software libraries or file-storage areas, referred to as repositories . You use the Definitive Media Library application to create, edit, and manage DML repositories.
Deployments application
Use this application to distribute software packages to a set of target computer system CIs.
Change Schedule application
Use the Change Schedule application to view a list of all change and release work orders that are scheduled in your environment, along with a timeline that shows the scheduled start and finish times for each work order.
Activities and Tasks application
Use this application to create, view, and edit implementation tasks that are used to complete Change processes and other processes, such as Release processes, in the data center.
Process Requests application
The Process Requests application is used to create, view, and modify IT process management requests.
