This topic describes the security groups that are defined
for release management . These security groups are aligned with the
release management personas that are shipped with IBM® Tivoli® Unified
Process Composer.
A security group typically consists of multiple users. An individual
user can be assigned to more than one security group, with one of
the assigned groups designated as the primary group. The primary group
assignment determines which Start Center is open when a user logs
on; users who are assigned to multiple security groups can tab to
the Start Centers for their secondary groups. Users have permission
to perform only those operations that are mapped to their security
group assignments.
The following table lists the built-in security groups and describes
the operations that can be performed by members of each group:

release types and classifications, assigning users to security groups, and so on).
|
PMRELEASESPECIALIST Release Specialist
|
- Performs the actual work that is required by release tasks and
activities.
- For example, builds and deploys a release package.

PMRELEASEDEPLOYER Release Deployer

|
PMRELEASEDEPLOYMENTSPECIALIST Deployment Specialist
|
- Performs software deployments that are defined for a release. The
Deployment Specialist security group has the same roles and application

In addition the following built-in basic and
advanced roles exist:

Description |
SDABASICPROCESSAGENT Basic Process Agent
|
- Includes all rights assigned to PMRELEASEOWNER, plus PMCHANGEANALYST
and PMCFGLIB.
- Does not include SDAADVANCED access rights.
Note: If a user of the SDABASICPROCESSAGENT group needs to be
able to own a change, the user must be added also to the PMCHANGEOWNER,
PMCHANGEANALYST, and PMCHANGEIMPL security groups. Moreover, if a
user of the SDABASICPROCESSAGENT group needs to be able to be a change
administrator, the user must be added also to the PMCHANGEADMIN security group.
|
SDABASICPROCESSADMIN Basic Process Administrator
|
- Includes all rights assigned to PMRELEASEMGR, plus PMCHANGEMGR
and PMCFGMGR.
- Does not include SDAADVANCED access rights.
|
SDAADVANCED Advanced Service Desk Agent
|
- This security group can be added to users in addition to other
security groups. It includes only advanced access rights. For example,
some of the advanced access rights for change process management are:
asset management, advanced assessments, advanced approvals, advanced
impact analysis, and adding many configuration items to a change.
- This security group does not have a Start Center. To get a Start
Center, users of this group must also be added to a different group.

Note: The Start Center for each role provides a link
to the IBM Tivoli Unified Process Composer documentation.
The Release Deployer role is associated with IBM Tivoli Unified
Process Composer version 2; the Deployment Specialist role is associated
with version 3.
Therefore, ensure that you use the Release Deployer
security group if you are using IBM Tivoli Unified Process Composer
version 2. Use the Deployment Specialist group if you are using IBM Tivoli Unified
Process Composer version 3.
You determine which version to
use when you install this product.
