Object storage limitations

Functions that require direct file access are not supported on inspection data sets.

Unsupported functions

Object storage uses a flat data environment and is not a traditional file system, so direct file access is not possible. A method to decipher whether an inspection data set uses object storage is not supported. Therefore, the following functions are supported for use on training data sets only:

  • Model training
  • Data augmentation
  • Auto-labeling
  • Video frame extractions
  • Data pattern insights

Workarounds

Training data sets use PVC storage, so direct file access is supported. Change the type of data set from inspection to training. You can also copy or move the inspection data set files into a training data set.

Note: You can change numerous data sets at the same time. One data set is processed at a time and in the order that it was changed. When the process starts, it cannot be canceled. However, you can change the data set type back to inspection if you made a mistake.
