Creating and adding a data retention policy

Manage your data by updating the default data retention policy and data transfer policy.

About this task

An administrator can create a data retention policy to determine when data is automatically purged from inspection type data sets. Users can apply a policy to an inspection type data set so that inference results are automatically deleted and data management is improved.

Note: From Maximo® Visual Inspection version 9.0, an administrator can create multiple data retention policies to determine when data is automatically purged from inspection type data sets.

Procedure

  1. As an administrator, create a data retention policy as follows:
    1. In Maximo Visual Inspection, from the side navigation menu, click Services and then click Data retention.
    2. Click Create policy and enter a name and description.
    3. In the Data retention days field, enter the number of days that the data is retained in an inspection data set before it is removed.
    4. In the Policy run time field, enter a time to run the policy.
    5. In the Policy run frequency field, select a daily, weekly, or monthly run frequency and then click next.
