Adding users

Add users by creating a user ID and password and selecting administrative privileges.

In Maximo® Visual Inspection Edge version 8.7 and later, add users by using the user interface.

In Maximo Visual Inspection Edge version 8.6, add users by running scripts in a command shell.

• In Maximo Visual Inspection Edge version 8.7 and later versions, add users in the user interface.
  1. In Maximo Visual Inspection Edge, from the side navigation menu, click Settings and then click Users.
  2. Click Create and then enter a user ID.
  3. Enter a password or click Generate new password.
  4. From the Administrator list, click Yes to create an administrator user profile or click No to create a nonadministrator user profile.
  5. Click Create.
• In Maximo Visual Inspection Edge version 8.6, add users by running scripts in a command shell.
  1. Open the monitor.json file that is in the subdirectory of the root installation directory of Maximo Visual Inspection Edge: volume/bin directory
  2. Enter the following script name: useradd.sh
