Seamless upgrade
You can seamlessly upgrade from Maximo Visual Inspection Edge version 8.7 and later to 8.9. When you seamlessly upgrade, all images, input sources, models, and configurations from the previous version are available in the upgraded version.
For more information, see Seamlessly upgrading.
Trigger orchestration
When an external system is unable to send a single shot trigger at the same time as an object appears on an inspection camera, you can configure trigger orchestration. Then, when an inspection receives a single shot trigger, the visual trigger evaluates images by using the frame rate that is configured.
For more information, see Trigger orchestration.
Visual triggers - disarming and rearming
When a time trigger interval is set to a low value, the visually triggered inspection is processed at a high frame rate. Processing at a high frame rate can cause multiple triggers when the same objects are detected in successive images. To avoid multiple triggers on the same object, visual triggers can be disarmed until an image or multiple successive images do not meet the trigger conditions.
For more information, see Visual triggers.
Enhancements to password management
The following enhancements to password management are available:
- Password reset
- A process for setting passwords if all administrator account passwords are forgotten.
- Password hashing
- An improved cryptographic hash is used to encrypt passwords. All user passwords are reset after a seamless upgrade.
Changes to when unlabeled inspection images are sent to the Maximo Visual Inspection server
When a model does not detect objects in inspection images, labels cannot be applied to the resulting images. In previous versions, unlabeled images were not sent to the Maximo Visual Inspection server.
Unlabeled images are now sent to the Maximo Visual Inspection server for certain inspection configurations.
For more information, see Unlabeled inspection images.
End of support for IBM Power Systems
