You can configure an inspection to run in collecting mode or inspecting mode.
Before you begin
- Add an API key so that your instance of Maximo® Visual Inspection Edge and Maximo Visual Inspection are connected. For more information, see Adding an API key.
- Add an input source. For more information, see Adding an input source.
- Create a station. For more information, see Creating a station.
Procedure

In Maximo Visual Inspection Edge, from the side navigation menu, click Stations.

Click a station to open it and then click Create.
The Create inspection dialog opens.

Enter an inspection name and description and then click Create.

Click the inspection to open it.
The Configuration tab opens.

In the Inspection mode section, click Collecting or Inspecting.

If you select Collecting, configure the inspection to run in collecting mode as follows:

In the Resources section, select a project from the list.

Select a training data set from the list.
- Optional:
In the Pipeline section, select a custom pipeline.

In the Input source section, select an input source from the list.
- Optional:
In the Trigger section, click Single-shot trigger
or Time-based trigger.

If you select Inspecting, configure the inspection to run in inspecting
mode as follows:

In the Resources section, select a project from the list.

Select an inspection data set from the list.

Select a deployed model location from the list.

Select a deployed model from the list.

To filter image results on a specified confidence score, enter a minimum confidence score.
- Optional:
In the Pipeline section, select a custom pipeline.

In the Rules section, click Create rule.
A rule determines the conditions that must be met for a pass, fail, or inconclusive inspection
result. For more information, see

In the Privacy section, select the Enable Privacy
checkbox and configure privacy on image results.
You can enable privacy on image results in Maximo Visual Inspection Edge version 9.0
and later versions.

In the Input source section, select an input source from the list.

In the Input source section, select the Enable visual
trigger checkbox.
- Optional:
In the Trigger section, click Single-shot trigger
or Time-based trigger.
