Registering with Autodesk Platform Services and creating an application

Complete the following steps to register with Autodesk Platform Services and create an application that contains your Autodesk credentials. Use of Autodesk Platform Services requires a subscription.

Before you begin

  • Autodesk Platform Services and Autodesk Platform Services Viewer are Autodesk products that you can integrate with IBM® Maximo® Real Estate and Facilities.
  • To register with Autodesk Platform Services:
  • A single APS application and subscription can be shared between multiple instances of Maximo Real Estate and Facilities or between Maximo Real Estate and Facilities and Maximo.
  • The Data Management API and Model Derivative APIs are required.

About this task

You must log in to Autodesk Platform Services and create an application for use with Maximo Real Estate and Facilities.

Procedure

  1. Under your profile, click Applications > Create application.
  2. Select a traditional web application.
  3. When the application is created, the application credentials are displayed.
    Keep the client credentials secure, as they allow access to all data and functions of the application. This includes all models that you use in Maximo Real Estate and Facilities. If the credentials are compromised, you can return to your application to regenerate the client secret, which you must then update in Maximo Real Estate and Facilities.
  4. Enter a description of your application.
  5. Maximo Real Estate and Facilities does not support 3-legged authentication, so a callback URL is not needed.
  6. Select the Data Management API and Model Derivative APIs.
  7. Optional: Add collaborators if needed.
  8. Save your application.
