Dynamic space planning
You use the IBM® Maximo® Real Estate and Facilities Dynamic Space Planning (DSP) application effectively to manage various aspects of workspace planning, including floor plans, drawings, and stack plans. Using DSP, you can visualize space layouts, update floor configurations, and strategically assign organizational groups to different floors to better align space availability with demand.
About this task
Floors: This tab allows you to create and manage planning scenarios. It supports graphical analysis of floor layouts for purposes such as social distancing, updating space classifications, reallocating organizational groups, adjusting individual seating arrangements and designating spaces as either reservable or dedicated. Scenario data can be applied to automatically update the active space configuration to reflect the planned scenario.
Drawings: This tab lists all drawings that are stored in IBM Maximo Real Estate and Facilities. You can search for specific drawings, open them in the viewer, or remove them from the list. Also, drawings in .dxf format can be uploaded directly into the system.
Stack Plans: Stacking is a high-level space planning tool that is used to manage people movement between floors at the organizational group level. Within this tab, users can access stack plans linked to specific floor-plan scenarios and adjust space allocations to balance organizational needs with available space. This tool is useful when planning relocations between floors. The process begins by identifying which groups need to move and their current and future locations. The primary goal of stack planning is to determine what changes are necessary and optimize space usage accordingly. This may also involve modifying the real estate portfolio such as adding or removing floors or building to accommodate these changes, whether by freeing up space or increasing capacity.
