Locating people and rooms with the Locate Perceptive app

Use the Locate app on your mobile device or desktop to find people or points of interest such as rooms, meeting spaces, or restrooms.

Searching as a self-service requester

You can search for a person across all available buildings. However, you search for a room within the building that is detected or selected. If no floor plan is available, a card view is displayed.

Complete the following steps as a self-service requester:

  1. Open the app.
  2. Search for a person or a room.
    • For a Person, enter the person's name. Select the person.
    • For a Room, enter the room name or number. Select the room.
  3. Review the person or room details. Review the location floor plan, key rooms, or floor directory.

Configuring real-time data from IBM Maximo Monitor

If IBM® Maximo® Real Estate and Facilities is integrated with IBM Maximo Monitor, you can view real-time data from Internet of Things (IoT) sensors in the Locate app. When you set the Monitor API settings for real-time data in Maximo Real Estate and Facilities, a real-time data tab is shown in the Locate app for any buildings and floors where IoT sensors are set up.

Spaces are overlaid with a blue color for available, gray for unavailable, and no color overlay if the space does not have a sensor set up. Click Refresh in the Locate app to update the real-time data.

To set the Monitor API settings, complete the following steps:
  1. From the side navigation menu, click Tools > System Setup.
  2. On the System Setup page, click General > Application Settings.
  3. On the Application Settings page, scroll to and select the Integration Settings tab,
  4. Enter the following values in the Monitor API Settings section. To find these values, open the Maximo Monitor application and click Setup > API.
