Counting inventory items

As a service technician, you can be assigned a cycle count work task by an inventory manager. To complete the task, you must physically count the inventory items and record the actual quantity.

1. Select the Inventory tab.
2. In the Related Links - Inventory pane, select Tasks > Cycle Count.
3. Open the inventory cycle count work task.
4. If the actual count differs from the recorded count, update the inventory item count.
5. Click Complete.

Results

The following records are created, if applicable:

• Asset records are created and associated with the appropriate inventory item.
• Lost log records are created and associated with the respective asset records.

The assignment statuses of the asset records and the inventory item records are updated.
