Verifying drawing precision and insertion scale

In some cases, an IBM® Maximo® Real Estate and Facilities Perceptive app might not display the same drawing alignment as the foundation application. To ensure proper alignment, you can verify that the drawing precision and insertion scale for both the standalone and external reference (Xref) drawings are consistent.

Procedure

  1. Open the standalone drawing and run the UNITS command to verify Insertion scale and Precision of the drawing. This step is important to ensure that the units, scale, and precision settings of the standalone drawing are correctly configured.
  2. Open the external reference (Xref) drawing and confirm that the Insertion scale and Precision settings match those of the standalone drawing. This step is necessary to maintain consistency between the main drawing and any referenced external drawings.
  3. Use the XREF (external reference) command to attach external references to the standalone drawing. After attaching the external references, right-click on the standalone drawing and select the Bind option. This step effectively incorporates the content of the external references into the main drawing.
  4. Once the Bind operation is complete, the drawing should align properly with the standalone drawing.
  5. After ensuring the alignment, upload the drawing to Maximo Real Estate and Facilities by using the Smart Attach feature.
  6. Finally, publish the drawing to complete the process.
