Managing assets

You set up and manage asset information so that users can complete various processes involving those assets, such as managing contracts and leases and planning space and moves.

Assets overview
Assets are owned or leased items, such as equipment, technology, tools, or furniture, that people use at a location within an organization.
Asset status
You can view the status of an asset in the Asset Status section of the General tab. You can also change the asset status by selecting a status action.
Creating assets
You create assets to represent actual leased and owned property. You specify information to help you manage day-to-day tasks and processes that are related to those assets.
Retiring assets
If an asset is no longer in use, you can retire it. When you retire an asset, you must complete disposition information for audit purposes.
