Configuring agent processes

You can configure IBM® Maximo® Real Estate and Facilities agents and agent processes for your particular implementation.

Business process agents
Maximo Real Estate and Facilities business process agents do the automated work for Maximo Real Estate and Facilities applications. Each event that require an agent goes into a queue where the agent can retrieve and process it.
Starting and stopping agents
You can independently stop and start each agent from the Agent Manager in the Maximo Real Estate and Facilities Administrator Console. In a large deployment where each agent runs in a dedicated pod, and to a lesser extent a medium deployment, you can prevent unused agent pods from running.
Attaching Microsoft Outlook messages
Microsoft Exchange converts a sent Microsoft Outlook message (.msg file) and any attached messages (.msg files) into Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME) format. However, the IBM Maximo Real Estate and Facilities Incoming Mail Agent is not designed to recognize attachments in MIME format. Instead of attaching Microsoft Outlook .msg messages to another .msg message, you have two alternative options.
