Integrating the building with Maximo Real Estate and Facilities

Integratie a building with IBM® Maximo® Real Estate and Facilities.

This image shows the Building integration form.

Procedure

  1. Select how you wish to integrate the building. The options for integrating the building are provided in the section Building. The behavior of the rest of the form varies slightly based on the option selected.
  2. Select a location. The location list can be filtered if desired. Land is displayed in the list for information, but is disabled as it is not a valid parent for a building.
  3. If Add Linked Model, Existing Building or, Reattach is selected, the building list is populated with buildings available for the location. The list is retrieved from the Maximo Real Estate and Facilities server when the location is selected, so large lists may take a moment to load. For Existing Building, all buildings for the location that are not linked to a model are displayed. For Add Linked Model and Reattach, only buildings that were previously linked to a model through one of the other three options are displayed. Double click a building to display a form that allows you to view and edit a subset of the building fields.
  4. If New Building is selected, you can specify currency and units of measure.

Managing the location hierarchy

Before you begin

This process requires platform 5.0 or higher.

About this task

The Integrate Building tool provides limited management of the location hierarchy to enable creating and selecting the correct parent location for a building.

Procedure

  1. To view or edit a location, double-click the location in the Location tree.
A form containing key fields for the location is displayed.
  2. Edit or update the form.
  3. To add a child location, right click to display a context menu.
Supported and valid child location types are displayed.
  4. Select a menu item to display a form to create the location.
    The supported location types are:
    • Location Category
    • Land
    • Property
    • Retail Center

Staging Records

Integrating a Building creates triBIMBuilding and triBIMModel staging records. Reattaching to a previously integrated building reads these records, but makes no changes.
