Data Integrator

The Data Integrator is a tool to allow records to be created or updated from data in a kind of file called a tab-delimited file. If you want an application that runs in IBM® Maximo® Real Estate and Facilities to receive data from an external application that runs outside of IBM Maximo Real Estate and Facilities, the Data Integrator is the simplest way to get the data into IBM Maximo Real Estate and Facilities.

Application Building for IBM Maximo Real Estate and Facilities: Data Management describes the Data Integrator in detail.

Tab-delimited files can be created from spreadsheets. There are a number of accounting packages and other kinds of programs that can produce tab-delimited files.

The simplest way to run the Data Integrator is for it to be run interactively by a person. If you run the Data Integrator this way, no programmer involvement is needed.

In some cases, it is not practical to have a person run the Data Integrator every time there is data to be received into IBM Maximo Real Estate and Facilities from a tab-delimited file. For these cases, it is possible to schedule data to be read from a tab-delimited file periodically without the involvement of a person.
