Configuring cloud login

IBM® Maximo® Real Estate and Facilities supports extra cloud OAuth identity providers (IdPs) that are not in your core IdP to allow more flexibility to support specific groups of users, such as contractors. This cloud-login mechanism is based on OpenID Connect (OIDC), directly supports some specific IdPs, and has custom options that might allow other IdPs to be configured. You can configure the cloud login screen to include one or more login buttons for each IdP.

Cloud login supports Microsoft, Autodesk, Okta, Google, and IBM Security Verify as IdPs. Cloud login has custom options to configure other IdPs, however, the generic cloud-login processing is not guaranteed to work for all IdPs.

Cloud login has the following advantages:
  • You configure and manage cloud login in the Maximo Real Estate and Facilities application, which requires no change to the hosting environment.
  • You can allow selective access to specific groups of users in an OAuth profile. You can also configure an allow list of users to quickly give or revoke access to the application.
  • Support for Microsoft as an IdP works well for organizations with the Microsoft Exchange and IBM Maximo Real Estate and Facilities Workplace Reservation Manager (Reserve) Maximo Real Estate and Facilities Reserve integration.
  • Support for Autodesk as an IdP allows users of IBM Maximo Real Estate and Facilities and IBM Maximo Real Estate and Facilities Connector for BIM to use their existing Autodesk account. Cloud login is integrated with the login screens of these applications. Cloud login with Autodesk also supports external organizations that require access to Maximo Real Estate and Facilities to upload design data.
