IoT tool overview

The IoT tool acts as an IoT device message broker for device registration, IoT data management, and IoT device management. You can use the tool to connect and control IoT devices. The tool provides secure communication to and from your devices by using MQTT and TLS.

Accessing the IoT tool

Complete the following steps to access the IoT tool:

  1. Log in to Maximo® Application Suite.
  2. From the Application navigator, on the Tools tab, click IoT.

You can access your device data directly from the IoT tool in near real-time by subscribing to raw device data. An application can subscribe to events from one or more devices. For more information, see Communicating with applications (MQTT).

Managing access to the IoT tool

On the IoT tool members page, you can control and manage access to your IoT tool organization. You can add users by adding, inviting, or importing them. You can also give different levels of access to your users by assigning roles.
