Creating Cognos Analytics instances

Create a Cognos® Analytics instance to manage users.

Procedure

  1. Log on to Red Hat® OpenShift® Container Platform and access the IBM Cloud Pak® for Data pod.
  2. From the menu, select Networking > Routes and open the cpd route.

  3. Log on as admin to Cloud Pak for Data by using your IBM® provided credentials.
  4. To create a platform connection, go to Platform connections from the navigation menu and click New connection +.
    The platform connection is used as a Cognos Analytics content store.
    Note: Supported databases are IBM Db2®, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server only. IBM Db2 Warehouse is not a supported database.
  5. From the menu, select Services catalog.
  6. In the Analytics section, verify whether the Cognos Analytics tile is enabled.
  7. Go to Instances and select New instance.
  8. Select Cognos Analytics and click New instance.
  9. In the wizard, select an Instance Name Space, which is ibm-cpd.
  10. Select the Shared File Volume Storage, Shared Block Volume Storage, and Plan size and click Next.
  11. Select a Content Manager Database and an Audit Database and click Next.
  12. Complete the wizard to finish creating a new instance.
  13. Go to Instances from the navigation menu to check for the newly created instance.
    Note: Check the Status column to see whether it displays Running Instance that is created.
