Result Set portlet

The Result Set portlet displays the results of a saved query in either list format or chart format.

If you frequently run the same searches, you can save time by creating saved queries. You can display the results of those queries on the Start Center in the Result Set portlet. A Start Center can have one or more Result Set portlets.

You can interact with the result set from within the portlet:

• Alternate between a list view and a chart view by clicking either List View or Graphical View. The link depends on which view you are in. If you have not set up a chart, you see Set Graph Options instead of Graphical View.
• Display graphical information as a bar chart or a pie chart by clicking the Chart type link.
• View the results of the entire result set in the List tab of the application by clicking the Open result set in the application icon.
• View a subset of the results in the List tab of the application by clicking a bar or a slice of pie graph.
• View a specific record in an application from the list view by clicking the record in the Result Set portlet. For example, if the query involves purchase orders, when you click a list item you are taken to the Purchase Orders application.

Options available from the Result Set portlet

You can change how the portlet is displayed by clicking the Edit Portlet icon:

• Change the default display format of a chart or a list.
• Set the number of rows in the portlet.
• Apply colors to rows in a list view using the Condition Attribute on the Color Options tab.
• Change the fields in a list view on the Field Configuration tab.
• Change details in a graphical view on the Chart Options tab.
