Recording physical signatures
Maximo® Mobile applications can be configured to require physical signatures for work orders based on their statuses. For example, before a work order is completed, the Technician application can prompt the user to sign the work order and then change its status to complete. This feature is not enabled by default.
About this task
You can record and store images of signatures that are submitted from Maximo Mobile applications. Each signature is stored as an image and as part of an attachment object. The attachment description is automatically populated with the signature and the date and the time of the signature. A default name is also given to the image, which includes the status of the record it is associated with. After a signature is recorded, it can be retrieved from the attachment list of the signature's associated work order or item.
The signatures can be recorded in both connected and disconnected mode, but the signatures cannot be modified after they are recorded.
Procedure
- Log in to Maximo Manage and in the System Properties application, open the maximo.mobile.statusforphysicalsignature property.
- Clear the Nulls Allowed checkbox.
- Enter one or more status values in the Global Value field.
For example, enter APPR or COMP.
- Save the changes.
- On a mobile device, open the Technician application and then open the details page for a work order.
- Change the status of the work order to Approved.
- Write your signature and click OK. The status of the work order is set to Approved.
