Classification Data migration group
The Classification data migration group manages classifications.
DMCLASSIFICATION object structure
Managing application | Classifications |
---|---|
Supported objects | Classifications |
Outbound content processing | None |
Inbound content processing | During package deployment in a target environment, this object structure processes the class structure from the hierarchy path. |
Carries long description | Only the CLASSSTRUCTURE long description |
Carries records in multiple languages | No |
Additional information | Do not remove the HIERARCHYPATH or DATATYPE non-persistent attributes, or deployment errors occur. Do not change the autokey attribute CLASSSTRUCTUREID, or records cannot be migrated. |
Classification dependencies
Classifications can have many dependencies. A class structure record might depend on an organization or site. A classification Use With record might depend on a business object. A class specification might depend on a domain, unit of measure, organization, or site. A classification specification Use With record might depend on an organization, sire, or other business object. None of this related data is part of the classification object structure. Therefore, the following related data must be migrated separately or created in the target environment before or after you migrate a classification:
Related data | Migration |
---|---|
Organizations, sites, and domains | Migrate the related data separately or create it in the target environment. |
Units of measure | Create the data in the target environment. |
Other business object | Migrate the related data separately, or create it in the target environment and apply the configuration changes by using the configdb utility. |
