Script components define the building blocks of automation scripts, including launch points, variables, and logic used to extend Maximo® Manage.

Scripts and launch points
You can create and maintain scripts and launch points by using the Automation Scripts application.
Variables and bindings
Variables determine how information is passed into or received from a script. You can configure the variables for the script in the Automation Scripts application instead of declaring variables in the source code. By using variables, you reduce the complexity of the source code and make it easier to reuse the source code for different purposes.
Gathering user input by using choice messages
A choice message gathers user input, which can then be used in the automation script. You can use choice messages in automation scripts to create an interactive user experience. For example, a message can say that a record does not exist and ask if the record should be created.
Launch points
A launch point is a complete script configuration. The configuration consists of the target application or context, the variables that are passed between the application and the script, and the body of the script.
