Creating purchase requisitions
You create purchase requisitions to identify items or services you need.
About this task
- Internal purchase requisitions requesting the transfer of materials from another company storeroom
- External purchase requisitions requesting the purchase of the necessary materials from an outside vendor
After the purchase requisition is approved, the line items can be placed on one or more purchase orders and sent to the appropriate vendors. You can also create purchase requisitions from the Inventory application using the Reorder Items action, which you specify in the Purchasing options in the Organizations application.
Procedure
- From the toolbar of the Purchase Requisitions application, click New Purchase Requisition.
- Optional: Modify the value in the PR field.
- In the Description field, type a description.
- Fill the remaining required fields.
- Click the PR Lines tab and add lines to the purchase requisition.
- Click the Ship To/Bill To tab. Ship-to information defaults from the Person record, as defined in the People application. If there is no default ship-to information associated with the Person record, the product copies the ship-to information from your organization.
- In the Ship To field, type a value or click Select Value to choose from the list. Fill the remaining Ship To information.
- In the Bill To field, type a value or click Select Value to choose from the list. Fill the remaining Bill To information.
- Click Save Purchase Requisition.
