Defining seasonal dates for work order generation
You can specify the active months or seasons of a preventive maintenance (PM) record. The PM only generates work orders during those periods that you specify.
About this task
An extended date on the PM overrides seasonal dates. If the extended date on a PM changes the due date to one that is outside the active season, you can generate work orders from that PM.
If the PM is associated with a master PM, updates to the master PM record overwrite changes you make to the seasonal dates on the associated PM when you update existing PMs. To prevent updates by the master PM, select the Override Updates from Master PM check box on the PM tab.
Procedure
- In the Preventive Maintenance application, display the PM record you want to define active dates for.
- On the Seasonal Dates tab, in the Active Dates section, click New Row.
- Specify values for the start month and start day, and the end month and end day for the active season.
- To define multiple active seasons, repeat steps 2-3.
- Click Save PM.
