Working with requests for quotations
A Request for Quotations is a request that you send out
to one or more potential vendors. You receive the quotations from
the vendors, record the quotations they provide, review the quotations,
and award one quotation for each line item. Quotations are converted
into one or more purchase orders or contracts.
Creating Requests for Quotations
You create a Request for Quotations when you want potential vendors to provide quotations for items or services.
Copying line items from purchase requisitions to Requests for Quotations
You can copy one or more line items from a purchase requisition to a Request for Quotations. This action provides a quick way to enter line items without manually entering all the detail information.
Creating, associating, and modifying terms
You can create terms and conditions for records and you can associate existing terms with records. You can also modify how the sequence of terms displays for a record .
Creating units of measure
You can create a unit of measure to describe the quantity used to measure an item, tool, or a service. You use a unit of measure to measure the items and services that you order, issue, and transfer in the asset management system. Examples of units of measure include EACH, CASE, IN (inches), and ROLL.
Creating conversion factors
You can create a conversion factor to define the numeric value or ratio that the asset management system uses to relate one unit of measure to another. The conversion factor is an alternate value that is used to represent a unit of measure. You can use this alternate value to define an item order or transfer quantity and storeroom balance.
