Creating Requests for Quotations

You create a Request for Quotations when you want potential vendors to provide quotations for items or services.

About this task

Quotations supplied by vendors must provide you with pricing and other line- item-specific information, such as manufacturer and delivery time. When you have quotations in hand, you can add them to the Quotation Lines table on the Quotations tab. You can then compare the quotations before awarding line items to vendors and before creating purchase orders.

When you create a Request for Quotations, the status defaults to INPRG (In Progress).
