Creating system maps for COBie systems

By creating system maps, you can map the data elements that are specified in a COBie system to an existing system in Maximo® Manage instead of creating a new system.

About this task

A system map entry has the following elements:
Map from COBie system
The name of the system from the COBie model files.
Map to existing system in Maximo Manage
The name of the Manage system, which is to be updated with COBie data.
Connection location
A location that is a member of the selected Manage system.

When a system is mapped, a location is created by using either import generated IDs or an autokey that is based on configuration options that are specified in the Configure Model Data dialog box for the project. The location is assigned as a member of the system in Maximo Manage that is updated, and the parent location in that system is the connection location. The operating location that is associated with each component in the COBie system is added to the target system in Maximo Manage as a child of the location.

The system mapping table for a project can be populated with a list of all systems for a building model by selecting the Populate System Map option in a validate session for a project.

Procedure

  1. In the BIM Projects application, on the Mappings tab, in the System Map section, specify the COBie system that you need to map to in Maximo Manage.
  2. Specify the system in Maximo Manage that the COBie system maps to.
  3. If the system in Maximo Manage is not a network system, specify the connection location.
  4. Save your changes.
